I just picked up a PT-82 at Ft. Myer after going through all the choices you mentioned above. I play a small Rudy and was looking for a good mpc for quintet that would get to the higher range easier, but still give me a dark sound with more of a compact feel to it; very punchy. The 82 is close in size to the normally F tuba pieces, but seems to work a little better for the bigger horn. It has a comfy rounded rim, medium-shallow cup and tighter throat than the Helleberg styles I had used before, which helps counteract the very open feel this horn has.
