It probably is easy to make the program change for a CNC lathe to put a small shank and backbore on a Yeo mouthpiece, but you're talking about asking that of a big company that doesn't want to take to time to do that.
I am a small company, in fact just me (and my wife), and I designed my mouthpieces to be as flexible as I can imagine, with three threaded parts. Some parts are interchangeable and some parts are not, for mechanical and acoustical reasons. I interpret the Yeo mouthpiece to be a modification of my L cup that Doug Yeo used prior to the Yamaha design. It's sort of a cross between my L and a 60, with a slightly wider rim as you noted.
