Somewhere in a similar thread I outed, that if I during my preparational work was able to play any given note stable several cents above, right on, and below the supposed reference pitch, then I was confident, that I could adapt to any upcoming situation.

What I have been opposing is the introduction of an arbitrary parameter, which dictates any player playing tubas of whichever pitch to play the notes belonging to the 5th partial series of the BBb tuba way flat to adapt the least accomplished BBb tuba player.

Intonation should be dictated by the music, not by the instruments involved.

Where we might have opinions diverging a shade, is on the opinion, that the general audience cannot discern unisono notes being off true pitch. It can do so at some more or less conscious level!

In street concerts one can see the audience getting uncomfortable with bad intonation.
