As eccentric as he was, Virgil Fox may have done it right. He toured with a concert organ to venues that were known to attract rock audiences, such as the Fillmore East. Yes, he had the light show. Yes, he dressed outrageously. But the MUSIC itself was performed exactly as Bach and other composers of 100, 200, 300 years ago intended, without drum tracks or any “dumbing down”. And the young music fans hollered and cheered for more!
