I did not want to imply that being part of the trombone section is all that we do, as there are several roles for the orchestral tubist, but that there is no belittling of the tubist intended when lumped in with the trombone section. In the grand scheme of things, there are much greater concerns than whether someone specifically asked us by name to play or not, and I think we are in agreement there.
