Two of the other tuba section members in band have put some protection on their tubas: They use those elbow, knee and ankle protectors/braces you can buy in large drug stores. They are quite adjustable with Velcro.

Of course, soft protectors like these and the others mentioned below will not do much to protect against dents, but they do help against lacquer scuffing & wear, etc. They are made of synthetic compounds like Nylon, and shouldn't react with the tuba's finish.

I have also seen some lace-on sleeves for some areas of a tuba, but don't know where to get them.
