If he turns out to be an ass, keep telling him he sucks even if it's not true. "Dude, you suck!" Guys like this usualy have a complex, exploit it. And always play louder than he does, this will be no good for the band, but if they won't get rid of an ass they deserve it. Of course, I admit that this is rediculous advice but it will piss him off, take your oz. of flesh, at the very least it'll be fun.
