It has taken me some time to get used to the switch. I bought my Eb tuba last August and am now pretty comfortable sightreading in about any key. When I first started making the switch, I did the trumpet thing to get used to seeing the notes as certain fingerings. Man, there really isn't any magical potions you can take-you just have the spend the time getting used to the new fingerings. Go back to your getchell and play through every etude one at a time until you get them right.
If you do have an Easter gig that is imminent, then try to get the music before hand and just learn before you have to perform it. good luck and welcome to the tribe.
