Check your numbers. My calculations show that shortening the airpath by half a cm. would raise the pitch only 3 cents. Would this really be enough? Time to get a good tuner out and see what really gives. If you'll get back with some numbers (e.g. the number of cents you need to sharpen), we can run some more numbers.
