Look into a VMI-103, or a 2103 as the Brasswind calls it. I believe DaveFedderly at Baltimore brass also has them. For $3000 you get a higher quality German horn. Check past months here on the BBS, and you'll see nothing but praise for the VMI-103, and a lot of questions about the St. Pete. I bought a 103 about a month ago. It has a nice dark sound, in my opinion. I've been reading this board for about 4 months, and every month more and more questions are posted about St. Petes. I considered a St. Pete also, but there has to be something wrong when so many people have have had problems.
