Thats easy. You are sacrificing a real weight of sound to the brass section and orchestra that something like a Rudy would provide. Rudy's are alot harder to play, but the hard work really pays off in the end. The same could be said for the Nirschl(York copy), and there are probably others.
But it seems so many people follow too much of what other people play, rather than just work it out for yourself. If you apply what your teacher says to playing any instrument, then you could succeed. The choice of instrument will become a natural progression, as you get better and want or need better or different tubas.
