I personally like the Mercury Living Presence recording of the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Frederick Fennell conducting, recorded in 1955. Mercury re-released this recording a couple of years ago. The catalog number is 289 462 960-2.
By the way, does anybody know who was playing tuba 1955 for the Eastman Wind Ensemble?
