Here's a list of some of my favorite groups that feature great tuba playing. Some of these would be considered more "Hot Jazz" or "Trad Jazz" than Dixieland, but they all have great tuba players. Some go back as far as the 20's, many are active. A lot of them have CD's available through various outlets on the internet. Also, finding any CD's which feature either Eli Newberger or Vince Giordano will guarantee great tuba listening! In Vince's case, also bass sax and string bass.

Natural Gas Jazz Band
Dukes of Dixieland
10th Avenue Jazz Band (great tuba solos)
Castle Jazz Band
Turk Murphy Jazz Band
New Black Eagle Jazz Band
Hot Frogs
Keith Nichols Cotton Club Orchestra
Royal Society Jazz Band
Bob Schultz and his Frisco Jazz Band
The Golden Gate Rhythm Machine
Tiny Parham
Jelly Roll Morton

These are just a few. Enjoy!
