I feel sorry for you musician-types. If you had a real job, you could move with impunity and not have to go through this sort of stuff. There is a much greater demand for, say systems engineers, than there is for tuba players (or bass trombonists). Moreover, there is enormous job satisfaction in producing something more than just entertainment.
