The 3XL will not work on your imperial. The L designates a large shank. The Imperial has a small bore receiver.
Working on the cup of a mouthpiece in my eyes would be no easier than making a new mouthpiece from scratch.

Get a leadpipe intended for the current Besson 981 Eb. It should add fullness to your tuba. And it will give you a large receiver, that would make the number your mouthpiece options almost infinite.
