Thats interesting. Do you have both the upright and recording bell? What is the diameter of your bells? With the bell front bell one can soar over a 125 piece symphony. When the Pittsburgh Symphony recorded the Rite of Spring, The High Fi Magazine said the low tuba was fantastic and soared over the orchestra in the solo parts. Dr. Steinberg did not mind the recording bell.
