The Tuba Assist, with its own website, fits right in your lap and attaches to the chair and is adjustable for about $130 including shipping. A professional I know had one made of wood for a few dollars. The DEG Rest that has a tripod on the floor is good and has an extension. Many people think the K & M similar though slightly more costly model is stronger; it is taller, even if you bought the extension for the DEG. I own 2 Wenger tuba Tamers and an old Besson Rest for the tubas with small balls on the bottom. The Wengers are great but not portable and rather expensive. You might buy a Meinl Weston harness/strap so that you could also use it standing. This would free your hands completely to move music or adjust a metronome. Good luck. Bill.
