Well, there was one set of concerts where MTT scheduled both Boulez and Messiaen on the same program. That probably was a bit rich (atonal) for most people, although I generally really like Messiaen. I didn't see that program. Beyond that, it seems like he's programmed a lot of fairly tuneful stuff this year. Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just happen to think voting on repertoire through e-bay is a perfectly vial idea. You'd end up hearing the Pachelbel "Canon" ad-naseum.
