Not strange at all! My favorite piece for "trombone" is actually the Franck A Major violin sonata, which I've been working on for 20 years (I'm not good enough to perform it, but it's a gas to fool around with). The Brahms e-minor cello sonata is another great one.

Of course, the Bach cello suites go without saying.
