The two Michel tubas, which I have photos of, were made in Graslitz (German spelling), which tells that they were made during the Austrian imperial ruling, which ended with the end of WWI.
I don't own instruments from that era, so I have no first hand knowledge. Yet, I again and again get hints, that the old Austrian bands were tuned to a higher pitch standard. However I never have been presented to the exact standard expressed in Hz.
