I remember a [keep in mind "PROFESSIONAL"] performance that I did one or two years ago of the "Organ Symphony":
- The organist got lost.
- The clarinetist didn't synchronize his 6-to-the-bar with the bassoonist/violins.
- Some of the tempi given by the second-in-command-here's-your-one-concert-for-the-year conductor were ridiculous.
- Though the tuba part isn't particularly notable anyway, I was so damned sick with the flu that I didn't speak one word to anyone before or after the performance. I remember virtually nothing about my own playing, and really couldn't even hear myself with all of the congestion...
I've never heard more general compliments than those offered related to that performance.
Go figure (???)
