How well have you mastered the contrabass (BBb or CC) tuba? If I heard you play a solo work on the basic instrument, a contrabass tuba, would you sound more to me like a "master" or a "student"? As a sophomore, are you trying to make decisions about things that you really aren't even ready to spend much time pursuing?
Just based on the TYPE of questions that you are asking, I am not convinced that you have enough clues about what you are trying to decide, nor why you are trying to decide it.
I recommend more tuba practice time, and less computer time.
