See Brian's explanation above. He is the second one of Jacobs' former students to give the same answer. That is: there is much more of an effect on the higher brass players so a Horn or Trumpet would have more of a high range reduction. However in my case this is my third operation in 8 years and the Dr. explaned that alittle more tissue was removed with each surgery which might cause a problem. Also this is dependent on the extent of tissue removed each time. I had no noticeable change with the first two surgerys and hope that the same will be so again. I'll find out in a couple of weeks when I start playing again. Ray
