At the risk of rousing the ire of 24AW users, I would suggest this is not a mouthpiece with an outstanding reputation for growling out the low ones. Any larger mouthpiece will do better and I would start with deeper: Bach 18, 22, Conn 2, King 26 (if you can find one), PT50, PT48, etc. I have had a different experience from Rick (always a middle name, like Bob Hope) Denney, though. I find high notes speak as well on bigger mouthpieces as on smaller ones unless you are talking about bass bones or smaller mouthpieces used on a tuba. Some vendors offer an exchange (low fee) on trying mouthpieces and some will let you try them in the store, free. I'd do that, if I were you.
