I have to agree with Bill here. The 24AW is not a growler, but it has the potential to be. I use a heavyweight 24AW on all my horns(please don't cringe, even great on my F). It does not lend itself to low register playing. You have to really relax and slow your air down so it doesn't back up on you. I love the mp, it gives ME a consistent sound throughout MY registers. Is it for everyone? Nope, but with a little extra practicing, you can make it work in the low register;i.e., from Pedal Eb on down(where I intitially had problems).
