The instrument could be a great historical piece as is, but I think you'd be disappointed with the intonation in a modern ensemble. I had a 1914 vintage version of that horn that had a slightly larger bell diameter, and pitch was a constant fight. Chris Hite bought that from me, and I cut it to CC, adding a MW 2165 valve section. It retained its tone quality and the pitch was much better on that horn as a CC. Pre-1920 horns can be a bear to play in tune with a modern ensemble. To me, anything with a main tuning slide in the leadpipe is suspect. By the way, it wouldn't play anything like a more modern Conn.
