I also got out of the business for a while for many of the same reasons. I had many of the same feelings as well. Still do to some extent. I realized that playing tuba is what I love to do, and if I can do it for a living, great. If not, great. Life goes on. The sun is going to come up tomorrow. I suffered through a severe burnout, and I had a really rough time. I do know that whatever happens, I love to play the tuba and (God willing) always will, regardless if it is my career. I had to come to terms with a lot of things during my abscence from playing. I found the "feeling" or "understanding" that put everything on an even keel. Whatever you choose, Dave, good luck with it. Find what you need to find. Make playing fun, whatever you do. Worry about the important things in life, and the rest will take care of itself. Sorry to see you go. Maybe we'll see you again.
