there you go. pushing the air. my point exactly. you can "push" as much air into the yorks, and the hirsbrunners, and the Kalisons, as you want. to get the desired fatness, you really doo have to push, and supply thick, fast air. whereas the german instruments, in my experience, require more strength of embochure, and control, and play quite loudly with the dark sound, easier, but not with the same depth.
but anyway, we've all got our own opinions, and our own preferences when it comes to tubas, and we all respond differently, so i sincerely hope you don't mind being argued with by someone less knowledgeable in these matters.
