I'm familiar with the differences in dimensions. In fact, I've documented those differences in the case of two 4/4 instruments. The difference in tubing length is there (mostly because of bell diameter), but it is not significant. There is, however, a difference in the overall height of the instrument in many cases.

In terms of feel, however, nothing has seemed to suck the air out of me the way the giant-bore rotaries do. If I made an edgy sound on, say, a Cerveny 601 or a Miraphone 190, it wouldn't be because of too much air. It might be because of too much push and not enough air, but that isn't related to the tuba.
