We agree completely!! Knowing that the High Holy York was just the thing for Arnold Jacobs does NOT mean you should go out and get one. You get the equipment that suits you, sometimes off the rack, sometimes custom fit. Pretty much true of everyone that has posted so far.

I'm still waiting to hear from some of those who are advocates that 'everyone should play the Blatmaster line of mouthpieces'.

BTW, I think there are three contributing factors to the great expense of Tuba mouthpieces: more material, more labor, and lower volume (sales, that is, not sound:).

Joe Baker, who probably buys 'off the rack' more often than he should.
