As mentioned in previous posts, this is my first horn, and I'm finding myself being very motherly about it. I want it to stay perfect, though I guess I'm realizing it isn't going to be worth the effort. As a good tubist (and a member of this list) has said to me:
"A new horn is like a new car. What a terror to own until you get the first dent!"
This is a learning experience for me as well. At this time I've decided to get a guard for the tuba (well make one) and possibly try out the lintless gloves. If this is too cumbersome, I'll try tape. I just have horror images of tape marks on old tubas I used to play in school.
Yes.. I'm a picky owner ;)
