Dear Anthony,
As one of the meany jobs I've held, I sold paint.
What you want is clear paint. Might I sugest trying
"Bin Jammen' Moore" Stays clear polyurethane floor
and furniture finish.
Also try applying it with a Preval self powered
sprayer. They're CO2 powered and kind of wimpie BUT
they are very cheap - about $7.50 and should do the
trick. If the paint store guy says it won't work then
go to an automotive paint store and get a can of
Bulldog clear adhesion promoter and use it underneith.
Anthony, I haven't tried this on brass yet but it's a
VERY CHEAP experiment. About $30.00 total and should
give you a "just polished" look for years.
As to removing it for shop repair later you better
remember to tell the repairman what you've done to the
finish or else it'll get messed up and the repairman
will hate you for making him breath all that poisionous
plastic related smoke !
Anyway I just thought You sound deturmaned and this
should be much easier then lacquering.
good luck,
Brian "Goodgigs" Kane.
