I've noticed this playing in amateur bands. On euphonium, too...they seem to start every note with an accent. It is quite annoying, to be truthful. Like, who taught them to do that? It is not musical; sometimes your very best entrance is a breath attack, depending of course on the music. But to play every single note as Fp, oh yech.
