You say the horn is keeping you from your full potential? How so?

Now I've done the same thing, in 8th grade when I didn't make regions(just starting), I was first to blame my ugly horn that looked like crap compared to every1 else, and prolly had a few leaks. My director even agree with me.

Now, I can go back and play that same horn, thats been smashed kicked dropped and who knows what else. and the sound is just as good as anyone elses, and I could easily make all region on it this year in highschool band. Its a typical junior high concert, I haev no clue what brand as I never saw one stamped on it, and its a old 3 valver.

Im not trying to flame you, but just to let you see it may not be the horn, I find it very unlikely that the horn is keeping you from playing much if any better. not to mention 2500$ would not get you a very nice horn if any horn new that is.

Just my .02 cents
