True story:
Once I showed up for my lesson and opened the studio door while the previous lesson was still going on. The studio was a really tiny room, and set up so that while I was standing in the door I could see straight down the other student's bell. I saw a rolled-up music book in the bell. I told him "Hey, there's something in your bell" and reached in and pulled it out.
The teacher said "We've spent the whole lesson trying to figure out why he sounded so bad today!"
