this was told to me by a well-known equipment theorist who for the sake of summary dismissal of his story shall remain nameless. The man often claims to have experience with the CSO Yorks, and a few summers back related this story to me:
Says he was hanging out in the hall with the CSO tubist, who stated that either the big horn was needing major service, or he just didn't have it in him to play anymore. The storytellers says he offered to try the horn, blew on it for a minute, then turned it over a few times while vigorously shaking. Out fell a lunch bag with an old sandwich in it!
