I don't claim to be up in those ranks, but about three or four years ago I was doing a rehearsal for a Christmas gig at a church and "not the greatest bang for the buck" was coming out of my F tuba. You know...not really horrible but just not "ringing".
When I got home, I was kinda wondering the same thing..."Have I lost it?...Are my valves that worn out?...etc." I set the instrument on its bell and heard a soft noise on the floor. Out had fallen a stuffed animal toy.
