I came across an old Boosey and Hawks 3 valve compensating tuba which was black from sitting around too long. I has a Vincent Bach 25 mouthpiece, which was also black.
I used Tarnex (as seen on TV ) on the mouthpiece, which got rid of the black, but left the mouthpiece a white-ish color.
Questions : What can you tell me about a Bach 25 mouthpiece ?
Anyone else ever used Tarnex ? Do I need to now buff things to get a shiny silver ? Or is it possible the finish is just ruined from being corroded so long ? There is no brass showing through on the mouthpiece.
Is it advisable to continue to use Tarnex on the rest of the horn ?
