This should make it simple: If a standard American shank mouthpiece (Bach 18, Conn Helleburg, etc.) will fit into your sousaphone gooseneck in the same way that you would want your mouthpiece to fit into a regular tuba mouthpiece receiver, then standard Conn bits are for you. (provided your "Apollo" mouthpiece has a standard shank -- Just compare its fit to known standard ones to determine this.)

King bits, Holton bits, Selmer bits, and some others are REQUIRED pairs (the two bits aren't the same, and it takes two of those brands to work.) Further, those brands do not have the same outside taper as a standard American shank tuba mouthpiece.

Conn bits DO have the same outside taper as standard American shank mouthpieces, and are completely reversable. (The two bits in a "pair" of Conn bits are identical to each other. Because of this, you dont HAVE TO even use two Conn bits. You may use only one, if you wish.)
