Brushing out the backbore while rinsing might help you.

Once saw an altohorn mouthpiece used by a former student, who maintained he rinsed in boiling water. It was clogged up almost entirely.

So water and temperature has to be reinforced by mechanical forces as well. A lot of suppliers sell small brushes.

Ever considered the pouch being the culprit?

I have thrashed my soft plastic pouches from UMI. And leather can be nasty if not kept dry.

Schilke at least years ago made pouches of an acid free type og leather. Still pleased with my 2 specimens.

Bob Tucci of Munich markets some nicely decorated pouches of a heavy leather fitting the Perantucci mouthpiece models rather well.
