Think about it again, he is referring to the FF above the CCC in the Kraft, and like that CCC it has to be faked on an F tuba, I use a flutter tongue, others double tongue quickly, what ever it takes.

But does someone have to notate a sound before it becomes musically worthwhile? I use the pedal F (I play CC tuba almost exclusively) all the time in stuff I have written or am improvising, it can be quite effective in both somber and comical contexts. Listen to Anthony Braxton to hear someone who has a brilliant grasp on the effectiveness of exterme ranges, high and low.

And stop limiting yourself to published rep!! Until you land the big symphony job, you are going to have ample time to play the tuba for next to no money. Might as well be creative with that time!
