my buddy here in town is playing on a convertable tuba that isn't a con but thats not overly important... its 3 valve piston and we don't think the the threads on the screw to keep the valve in place are alligned... it was really bothering us in rehersal so I whipped out a few valve oils and we put on some of my thick stuff... I know better than to put thick oil on pistons but he was going to dip the valves in alcohol to clean them off that night so I did anyways... it seemed to help the clicking stop and didn't slow the vlaves down much because I put thin oil on with it. can we do this with to oil and is it possible to fix the 'threads' or am I overlooking or underlooking a different problem?? thanks
Julie
