I'm having a little problem understanding what you mean by "threads". Are you talking about the threads on the upper and lower valve caps or the threads on the finger button or the threads attaching the valve stem to the piston. Or possibly the threads holding the valve guide (tacquet) to the piston?
In general, heavier oil won't hurt anything; it'll just slow the valves down some.
