Hey all,
I currently own a MW 20 BBb. It has, like all MW tubas, a very dark sound. This is great for band and orchestra in my opinion. But, I just heard a recording of my Brass Quintet -- Perfect Fifth -- and the tuba sounds soo dark, and it doesn't blend very well, in my opinion. I'm looking for ways to lighten and make my tone warmer. I play with a Bach 18. I'm looking to switch to a different mouthpiece, since this one is mainly a student MP. I would like to know if changing a mouthpiece will effect my sound, and lighten it up a bit? Also, are their any other ways to lighten up my sound? Can you guys suggest some MP's that I should try?
thanks,
