I bought a new Meinl weston f tuba a year or so ago. It was not $7000, even with a flight case. I don't think that an older Meinl Weston F tuba is worth 7 grand. I think it would be wise to check out some of the horns that Dave Fedderly has. It would certainly be worth the expense of travel, if you're willing to spend 7,000 on a used one. When I tried his horns, he had 5-7 of the 45s's. That's what I bought. The SLP felt like a CC tuba to me... and I got rid of my Yamaha F for that very reason. I ended up with a real gem of an f tuba, with an extremely colorful sound. And... if you're willing to spend 7 grand on an f tuba..I'll gladly sell it, and find another gem! (humor, of course).
