Just a random thought on a slow Thursday morning...
Why are all tubas designed for to be played with the right hand? I can understand that historically, in a world dominated by right handed people that everybody was expecte to be right-handed. But why does this continue? I can only assume that low demand, cost of production, existing manufacturering techniques prevent the production of lefty tubas.
How have left handed tuba players managed? Are you at a disadvantage? My wife is left handed, so I would not consider left handed folks disadvantaged, if I know what's good for me!
Why not left-handed trumpets or euphoniums?
OK, enough verbal rambling for now. Time to get a fresh coffee and make some phone calls.
