I'm the band teacher of a large high school program and have 9 tuba players for 7 tubas. We have 4 of the King detachable bell recorder tubas with the valves to the front, not on the top. In my opinion, the cases for the bodies are poorly designed and we are having much trouble with the valve stems being bent, (in one case, irreparabley damaged). Some stems have been soldered so many times they won't hold any more. Anybody got any suggestions on hanging the body on the wall in a corner to protect valve stems from being bent? What would you use? Any unforseen problems with this idea?
