I agree with you about bass trombone mouthpieces already having huge throats. Tuba mouthpieces throats range from .290 for a shallow mouthpiece about the depth of the S60, to a maximum of .375 on a really deep cup. I don't think many are made quite that big, but some people drill them out that much. The throat needs to be in proportion to the depth of the cup or the intonation suffers and the resistance feels wrong.
