Many schools identify methods and strategies for dealing with these problems through the use of an Individualized Education Program (IEP). An IEP includes background information on the situation as well as possible strategies and alternative instructional delivery methods. An example might be peer tutoring. Do you have another student of similar age that would play duest with this student? If his school has developed one AND the parent agrees to share it with you, you may receive some benefit from viewing it. Of course, talking to his other teachers could be advantagous as well.
