Yes, auto-workers are indeed union, and I am just as philosophically opposed to the union in that context as any other. My point was only that even in jobs that many would consider 'mundane', many people are passionate about their work.

As far as how long a Ford lasts vs. Close Encounters, I don't really care. Once I own it it's mine, and Ford should never come back for more money unless we agreed in advance. And it's not that I have a problem with two willing parties entering into such a contract, only with others trying to interfere. If Seattle wants to do the job for free, it's their own business.

Oh well, so we disagree on some of this stuff. Makes for interesting discussion!
